TEXT SIZE  Increase   Decrease

Course Description

The governance of biodiversity is a complex system that involves the coordination of multiple policies at different scales (from the local to the global), a wide variety of stakeholders, and a range of ecosystem and cultural services that shape and impact human well-being. This course will introduce students to the general concepts of biodiversity, the different international legal policies and regulations of relevance to biodiversity, and to the complexities that arise as a result of the implementation of policies related to biodiversity. Overall, this course will demonstrate the interconnectedness between biodiversity and human well-being and the relevance of biodiversity for achieving the goals of sustainable development.
